As well as managing the forest for wildlife, Steve and Kerri salvage solid fallen timber for use in making furniture and art. Almost all the furniture in Tor Cottage and The Shearing Shed was made by hand from timber milled and crafted on-site.

Farming

Five calves and Brownie 081Pictured right are Moon Jaw, Violet, Richie, Clyde and Milky Way with mum Brownie, a few of our free-ranging lawn mowers (the fence is to keep us in). We have a small herd of Angus and Angus-cross cattle (and one and a half Hereford) which live an organic lifestyle roaming the property. We don’t use any soil ‘improvers’ such as super phosphate, nor do we sew non-native pastures, or use dogs to herd the cattle. Our relaxed herd are healthy, friendly, shy, and very curious.
