Make peace or make some noise, make time for things that matter…
Indulge in warm privacy with a spa for two, wood fire and comfy surrounds in a simple and inviting handmade timber interior. Tor Cottage and Anketell Forest give you the space and peace to be yourself. For singles, couples or three.
Outside enjoy the expansive timber deck and granite platform. Take a seat at the covered outdoor bar and enjoy the tablelands views. Cook a mini-feast on the very popular Webber Baby Q or kick back and relax on the day lounge. Don’t swelter in the heat this summer, come up to Anketell Forest (alt: 1000m) and enjoy the New England cool.
Tor Cottage contains everything you need for a relaxing stay. We like to call it rustic luxury. The old leather lounge is extremely comfortable so put your feet up. The wood fire makes this well-insulated cottage very warm and cosy even on those frosty Tablelands mornings. Cuddle up and watch a dvd or listen to some music on the cd player. Enjoy something from our collection of movies, music and books or bring some of your own to enjoy in the peace and quiet of your private cottage.

The queen sized bed has a high quality mattress and firm base. The bed linen 100% high quality cotton. Snuggle up under the wool doona and enjoy the crisp feel of high thread count sheets. We do not use any perfumed or harsh chemical cleaning products so even sensitive skins can relax at Tor Cottage.
Want to prepare that special meal for your sweetie? Make a big lazy breakfast before a day’s walking or exploring the New England Tablelands? The kitchen at Tor Cottage is compact but contains all you need to express your culinary spirit. Gas stove-top, electric oven, microwave, fridge, and all kitchen ware. There is even a cute gas Webber Baby Q on the deck for the perfect bar-b-que for two.

As our guests you can walk 2000ac of private bush tracks, enjoy the views from boulder outcrops, watch wildlife, visit nearby fishing, heritage or natural areas, or spend your time enjoying the cosy comfort of your quiet private cottage.
Dogs are welcome at Tor Cottage
With 2000ac to roam Anketell Forest is a wonderful place to bring your four-legged friends for companionship and walks through the forest and boulders.
Rates are an extra $10 per dog per night. We do not have a fenced area but we do allow well-behaved dogs inside with you. Please bring feed bowls and bedding for your canine friends. There is a vacuum cleaner provided to clean up any dogs hairs inside. We ask that dogs be kept on a leash when walking on the property for the safety of both dogs and wildlife.
Managed as a wildlife refuge Anketell Forest is an integral part of the vital Deepwater/Bolivia Hill bio-region and wildlife corridor linking the north eastern coastal ranges with the western slopes. Its rugged and beautiful hills are home to a multitude of rare species including many listed as vulnerable or endangered.
Please let us know if you will be bringing canine friends.
